We have found WPA Education Welfare Services and particularly the EWO assigned to us invaluable in supporting the academy to ensure that attendance is maintained high on the agenda and support is put in place to ensure that attendance continues to improve.

The impact of this has definitely been aided by the consistency of our Education Welfare Officer (EWO). This has allowed our EWO to develop a firm working knowledge of the functioning of our academy and has allowed her to contribute to improving systems, suggesting effective strategies and offering support on a range of issues.

Our EWO maintains impeccable professionalism while at the same time being approachable to our students, parents and staff. Numerous parents have fed back that they have found her intervention and support critical in helping them to improve the attendance of their children.

Having WPA in the academy allows for additional support for our attendance team and, as a result, attendance issues can be addressed and resolved more swiftly and our students feel safer. Our EWO is very much considered one of the team and her views and opinions are sought and respected.
